Favian Gonzalez was raised in the same south side Milwaukee community he is now working to lift up. As co-founder of Street Dreams Soccer Academy, he is making soccer more affordable to young people while mentoring and creating real change in the community. Since Graduating from Cardinal Stritch University, he’s taught and coached soccer at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy but realized a void for Hispanic youth who enjoy soccer but can’t afford the costs outside of school sports. He and some friends started the soccer academy in 2019 and have grown it from two teams to its current 10 to serve youth from low-income neighborhoods.
